Our Story

We came for the waves.

We arrived the way most surfers do - chasing a swell, planning to leave. But Siargao has a way of keeping people. Not just the beaches, not the breaks - the people. The warmth that's quietly there in every shared tabo of water, every stranger who already knows your name.

So we stayed. Built a home here. Started a family here. And somewhere between the morning coffees and the sound of kids playing outside, Camanolo grew into what it is today - a place that carries the heart of this island and wants to share it with you.

We're a small, family-run property and we pour everything into it - with love, with care, and with deep gratitude for this land and the people who call it home.

When you stay with us, we hope you feel all of that. Not just a good night's sleep - but the warmth of a place that genuinely means it.

The A-Frame

The A-Frame is something on its own. Still wooden, still nipa-roofed, still completely Camanolo — but with room to spread out. Downstairs you have a queen bed and a single, and up in the loft is another queen.

The bathroom is generous — walk-in closet, room for three to get ready without stepping on each other. It's the kind of place where families make memories and friends stay up too late.

The Camanolo Residence

A home we built slowly. Now it's yours to stay in.

For a long time, this was just ours.

We built it slowly — the way you build something you actually want to live in. A lot of the wood you'll touch inside these walls came from an old ancestral house we had in Davao. When its time came, we couldn't just let it go. So we took it apart carefully, kept what mattered, and carried it here — all the way from Davao to Siargao — to give it a second life inside these walls.

That's what the Camanolo Residence is. It's not a hotel. It's a home. Our home. And we're opening it up — to families, to barkadas, to anyone who just wants a real place to rest in.

Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a private pool. Mornings that are quiet in the way only Siargao mornings can be. The kind of space where you cook together, slow down, and breathe.

We poured a lot of ourselves into this place. And we're sharing it now — simply because a home this full of love is better when it's lived in.

The wood tells a story

Much of what you touch inside these walls — the beams, the bed frames, the shelving under the stairs — came from an old family home in Davao. We took it apart carefully and carried it here. It has a life before this one.

A pool that's actually private

Enclosed by a wall of tropical garden, with a wooden deck and two sunbeds under a nipa shade. No other guests, no shared hours, no schedule. Just yours — morning, noon, or night.

Room to breathe — for everyone

Three bedrooms, three bathrooms. Two kings, one queen. A sofa bed upstairs if you need it. The ground floor opens into a kitchen and dining area built for real meals together. Sleeps up to 9, comfortably.

How we actually live here

We hired a botanist to help us plant mostly native trees — not just for the look, but to bring the birds back. It worked. You'll hear them in the morning before you hear anything else. In-house soaps and shampoo bars. A food garden, a composting system. This isn't a sustainability checklist — it's just how we run the house.

You're in the middle of it all

General Luna Beach is a 2-minute walk. Cloud 9 is a short ride. The wet market, the cafes, Kermit, Kurvada — most of it walkable. No tricycle needed. Siargao is right outside the gate.

Quiet without being remote

The Residence sits inside the Camanolo property — garden-enclosed, private, unhurried. The windows are soundproofed, so what you hear inside is up to you. Close enough to everything. Far enough from the noise. The kind of quiet you actually came to Siargao for.

• Check-in: 2:00 PM  |  Check-out: 11:00 AM
• Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM. The island needs its rest too.
• Kitchen: Leave it the way you found it. Someone else is cooking here next.
• Doors & gates: Lock up when you head out. We look after each other here.
• Smoking: Outside only, please — away from the rooms.
• Guests: Only registered guests stay overnight. No exceptions.
